It seems even inspite of all the changes in the sensibility of men over fashion and the evaluation of concept of the metro sexual men over the last decade, very few Indian men experiment with their clothing. They stick to the usual suits for all formal events and denims and t-shirt for everything casual.
Being a man does not mean being boring. So, let’s try and do something different. Buy a good Vest (Waistcoat). Remember the Aamir Khan from Ghajini and the Salman Khan from Hum Aapke Hain Kaun. Wherein Aamir replaced the office suit with vest combined trousers, short sleeved shirts and tie, the vests Salman wore were colorful and bright. You can find your own style.
Start from the basics. Indian Men generally wear the two-piece suit instead of the three-piece suits. Try adding a vest. You can either have the traditional three piece suit with the trousers, jacket and vest all in the same color. Or you can wear a different color vest to contrast with the rest of the outfit or match the trousers and the vest with a contrasting jacket. You can use either a tie or bow to add to the look.
Do away with the suit jacket. To look formal it is not necessary to wear a three piece suit. A pair of formal slim fit trousers, a cotton shirt and a vest, worn with formal shoes and a great watch can make a great statement. You can do away with the tie too if you want.
Pair the vest with jeans and a formal shirt for a semi formal look. This is generally good for day time functions. Depending on the occasion you can decide about the tie. But the shoes must be formal. Tuck the shirt in.
To project a casual look with a vest you can wear a t-shirt or a shirt tucked out with jeans. No tie for sure. Wear sneakers or boots. To accessorize use big buckle belts, aviators and a casual watch. If you can carry if off, you can also add a muffler or scarf.
Add the vest to the Indian kurta-pajama. It might sound very unconventional but it can look really amazing. You just need to find the right combination. Also ensure the Kurta-pajama itself is plain so the vest is highlighted.
Try the double layered vest. It’s a very new style and adds layers to your outfit. It looks great with a single color formal shirt and jeans. During winter and autumn something great to own.
Let’s take a chance and make the ladies swoon.
